This frame describes a complex event which lasts some amount of time, consisting of a beginning stage, a stage where the process is ongoing, and a finish or end. In some cases the process may pause, and then possibly resume. In this frame and its subframes, the distinguished argument is a Process, and there is no reference to an Entity which undergoes this Process or an Agent which initiates this Process. In formal terms, this frame refers to an overall controller x-schema (Narayanan 1997) with subframes corresponding to parts of the x-schema. |
